Need Designer and priorities

Turn evidence into clear needs, merge duplicates, and prioritize with the Signals Priority Agent.

A need is a problem or outcome customers want, written so your team can act on it, such as "Alert when a carrier misses a pickup window". Needs collect the evidence behind them, so you can see how many customers asked and who they are.

The Need Designer

Choose Need Designer in the left rail. It has three parts:

  • Signals (left): evidence that isn't linked to a need yet. Filter by product, persona, or whether it has a suggestion, and accept suggestions in place.
  • The need you're designing (center): pick an existing need or choose New need. Edit the short description, description, product, persona, and priority. Drag evidence from the left onto the need to link it, and unlink with one click.
  • AI assist (right): help that never changes anything until you accept it.

AI assist

  • Rewrite with AI drafts a new short description and description from the linked evidence. Compare it with the current text, then accept it, edit it before saving, or discard it.
  • Find duplicates lists needs that mean the same thing, worded differently. Merge moves the evidence to the need you're designing and cancels the duplicate, with a note on both.
  • Suggest split proposes groups when a need's evidence describes more than one problem. Split creates a new draft need with the selected evidence.

Who is asking shows the personas behind the linked evidence, and the header shows the number of customers and their total annual contract value.

Priorities

The Signals Priority Agent suggests a priority for each open need, where 1 is highest. It weighs how much evidence there is, how many customers asked and their contract value, and how clearly the evidence describes the need. Each suggestion has a one-sentence reason.

To review suggestions, open the Needs list under Customers. Accept them one at a time or choose Accept all. Suggestions are refreshed each night, and you can choose Suggest priorities now at any time.

Who can do what

Designing needs requires the customer manager role or higher. Members with the customer user role see the Need Designer read-only. See Team and roles.
